Axioms will have its next staged reading on February 18, 2024 at spit&vigor's black box studio in Manhattan.
This process is oddly thrilling to me, because it's the first time I'm handing my play completely over to someone else. Since I now live in Los Angeles, I obviously can't be present for any of the rehearsals in New York, so for the first time I get to have the experience of simply showing up and seeing how other artists interpret my work. I am vibrating with curiosity!
The other special thing about this reading is that it is part of a series specifically aimed at spotlighting the voices of neurodivergent theatre artists. Having my very personal play selected for this celebration is bringing up a lot of feelings (that I will probably write another play about sometime). I am honored to be part of the same series as so many other talented, proudly ND writers.
For this reading, Axioms is in the capable hands of director Abigail Gabor and actors Jeninka Zee, Katie Blu, Sophie Pulver, Veronique Hurley, Allison Furlong, and Seeni Chandran. I cannot wait to see what becomes of Axioms among this group of amazing people 3,000 miles away.
The reading will take place at 2:00 pm on February 18, 2024 at the spit&vigor tiny baby blackbox theatre, which is a series of words that delights me to say.
